I have rented a car for 2 weeks including liability at San Francisco Airport for 322, – Euro. This was booked by Billiger-Mietwagen.de, who booked my car through Car Del Mar by Dollars. The information in the checklist of Billiger-Mietwagen.de was simply “driver’s license”, which was insufficient, since the car was rented in the US. So I logically took my international driving license with me. When I arrived at the airport in San Francisco, I went directly to Dollars. The rather unfriendly staff refused my car because of the lack of my german driving license. After some discussion, I agreed to have my german driver’s license immediately send to me by express, which costed me another 52, – Euro. When I then wanted to receive my car, Dollar told me that my reservation in the meantime has been canceled. There was no cost refund for the almost 380,- € which I have spent. So better stay away from these deceptive companies.
