Please be informed that there had been a water blockage at the house we are living a couple of weeks ago. The owner got it fixed and asked us to bear the expenses. We rejected as was living only for just over a year out of the three years of the building’s life. However, the problem reoccurred after a couple of weeks. We requested the owner to get it fixed. They are insisting us to bear the expenses. Since, yesterday part of the house’s electrical connections have failed and we have been living dangerously and pathetically. The owner is asking us to bear the expenses which is estimated approximately around 30K.
I tried my level best to tell them that the building is depreciating, it’s the owner’s responsibility to get it fixed and the building repair expenditure can be claimed as deductions for the tax computation, but in vain. We informed them that we would like to vacate the house and asked them to return the lease deposit as we are unable to live peacefully. They are asking us to vacate the house immediately and once they receive the lease deposit from a new tenant, they would return our deposit. We are going through a trauma.
