This is to inform you that I had placed an order for Carly Sofa Set (Fabric molphino_14, 2+1 seater) on 9th of May’17 through online portal https://woodysfurniture.in. for delivery to Guwahati, Assam (Order no-100009661).
Online Payment of Rs 23,980 for the same was made through Credit Card.
However, as per mail received on 25th May’17 from Ms. Anita Kori, Woody’s Customer Care Representative, my order 100009661 was cancelled by Woody’s team stating delivery not being possible at Guwahati due to “Octroi issue”. Such delivery issues had not being stated during order placement at the online portal.
If I had been made aware of delivery difficulties for Assam, I would not have placed the order in the first place.
After that, inspite of repeated follow up by mail & over phone, in the last 3 months always flimsy excuses were given by Woody’s team for failure of timely refund that “It will be refunded in the next 3 working days, It will be done within the next 10 working days, There were some technical issues again, Person looking after refund is on leave, Order Manager is on leave” etc.
It is now Sept’17 and more than 3 months have passed since cancellation had been done by Woody’s side and I have still not received any refund.
This has led to intense mental stress to me due to the unprofessional & unethical conduct of Woody’s furniture team in failing to give me my refund, making customers feel like a fool for making repeated calls & sending mails with no proper response from them when I am trying to get back my own hard earned money.
As such, I have finally decided to approach your Consumer Court for justice. The complaint for the same has been registered with National Consumer Forum. The docket no for the same is: 407793. As suggested by consumer helpline i also mailed a letter to woody’s furniture stating refund request but the same was rejected by them.
Kindly help me get back my refund as soon as possible from this company.
