HP India – No accountability at all

I briefly want to share my experience of buying HP v222w Pen drive!!

I purchased HP v222w Pen drive from Amazon India seller Clicktech Retail. The product page stated 1 Year Warranty. Unfortunately the device failed in just 3 weeks. I contacted HP Customer care and the lady on the phone said, “We only support Desktops, Laptops and Printers, please contact local service center.”
Then I requested to share info about service centers and I shared my postal code with her, she gave one contact number but then she said “Contact them and check if they support pen drive!”
I was astonished. So what if they do not support, where do I go, then she said, “ask them if they know any other center that will support”
So I asked “as official India HP Customer Care, don’t you have city specific information about which are the centers that will offer me pen drive support?” she said “we don’t have that info”. It was crazy. This shows HP does not have even a fundamental value in place like Customer Centricity!
Then I checked HP website and Service Center locator page. I entered required details and choose ‘Accessories’ as product line and it showed me two centers in my city. Flextronics and Rashi. One denied pen drive support and another said they do not support v222w model.
I do not know what to say and how to react! This is one of the worst customer experiences I ever had with HP. It’s not about Rs 300 worth a pen drive, but a deeper lack of accountability, lack of ownership, lack of commitment and poor values that HP has displayed in this process.
