It is with utmost regrets that I need to say the harassment that I have to undergo in my recent dealing with Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) with regards to opening the locker facility. To give you all a brief on my relationship with bank, I have 6 FDs, 3 RDs and to 2 SBs (one NRE & one NRO) account with a total value of INR 20 lacs. I had requested for a locker with Annanagar branch to which the Chief manager Rajavel agreed with great difficulty on the condition that I need open a FD for INR 50000 as a pledge against the locker or pledge anyone of my existing FD to get the locker. My first question is: Is it a RBI guideline that all lockers needs to be pledged with a FD?
I even agreed to pledge one of my existing FD for INR 64000 to get the locker facility but due to some internal difficulty in the bank’s system, they wee unable to print the FD receipt (duplicate copy) and asked me to produce the original FD receipt.
With a customer who is having relationship worth INR 20 lacs, why am I made to undergo all such hassles. Manager Mrs. Rajeshwari & Chief Manager Mr. Rajavel are absolutely useless people who have no courtesy on how to deal with a customer.
Please intervene to sort this out
