After confirming my reservation at a set price, the guest house thru the booking site initiated free cancellation once they realized the dates were in high demand. They then would have encouraged me to rebook at nearly three times the original price.
Although framed as a “free cancellation,” this appears to be a tactic to bypass honoring confirmed bookings and resell at inflated rates.
Such practices are misleading and unfair to customers who rely on confirmed reservations. I would not trust this property for important travel plans.
