I got offered a job with a fake Amazon website (app.amainshops.com) where I would need to buy some items and then profit of these items. The person who I spoke to promised that I would make profit on these items purchased and that eventually I would have money come into my bank account. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen. Instead I lost £690. When money was transferred into the fake Amazon website, it showed up in dollars. This is why I believe it is an American company. However I am in the UK. The instalments taken out of my personal bank account are as followed:
£40 – 12th August
£50 – 13th August
£70 and £360 – 14th August
£170 – 15th August
The website has Amazon logo, looks real. But I realised it was fake as soon as I was unable to transfer money back into my account and there were spelling mistakes, very little moving around could be done on the website.
I can also provide evidence that this amount has been taken out however I am unsure on how safe it is to do so. When the money was taken out of my personal account, it was referenced with “Payward Ltd.” Followed by some letters and numbers.
