Dear Sir, when my family and I were having dinner at the Garden Restaurant, an astrologer approached us (he hangs out there every weekend). He appeared well-dressed and respectable, and he rolled us in his sweet, good-natured words, telling us that there would be a big problem in our futures and that we needed to carry out some rituals.
At first we ignored him but somehow he got my number and started calling and nagging and assured me that performing the ritual will definitely solve the problem and everything will come in 3 months, if you don’t you will lose your chance of promotion and your family member’s health will be at risk according to astrology etc.
He demanded 2500, took 14000 for a gem, and then performed meaningless rites after taking 22,000; when we contacted him three months later because there were no positive signs, he began claiming that someone had performed black magic, etc.I discovered by doing that that I am a victim of fraud. We attempted to contact him, but were unsuccessful due to restrictions.
I warned him about legal action via WhatsApp, and he promptly refunded me 2000. He always claimed to refund 50% of my money, but up until this point, he had made no other refunds.Please advise me on my options for legal action.I don’t want to get into trouble because that person seems to have good connections in the area, and I am from another state.
