I was about to be duped by Sarthak Mehlotra [Quite funny how he spelled Malhotra so that no one can catch him on the Internet] after a series of Skype ‘text interview’ by their management team Amanda Walker [Skype ID: walker.ceridian] and Ranveer Swami [Skype ID: ranveer.ceridian]. Luckily escaped from it after sensing their fraudulent attempts through various medias. Most interesting facts: 1. Their Skype screening of my company was through group messaging. It was surprising for me when a Company like Ceridian did not make use of the Video or Audio conference to shortlist a vendor for their so called ‘screening’. This is 1st indicator of the fraud. 2. All email communications were using a gmail address and no emails contained the signature of a the sender. Corporations will never send official emails from gmail. This is the 2nd indicator of the fraud. 3. They required $30 set up charge for each person and hence a total of $900 for 30 seats. They demanded this amount to be credited to a State Bank of India account Ranveer holds in India!! First of all, larger corporations will never charge any sort of fees as set up charges when projects or works are outsourced. Secondly, they will never collect such amounts into the personal account of an individual. This is the 3rd indicator of fraud. 4. Ranveer claimed to be a B.Tech graduate from IIT Kanpur introduced as being the Director of Operations at Ceridian UK. There is a Linkedin profile in the name of Ranveer Swami who is a Board Member at Ceridian (instead of so claimed Director of Operations). According to the Linkedin profile, Ranveer started his B.Tech degree in 1992 and completed it in 1997 [Screen snapshot of Linkedin profile attached]. But his Skype profile shows year of birth as 1985! [Screen snapshot of Skype profile attached] How can someone born in the year of 1985 start his B.Tech degree in 1992 (At the age of 7 years!!)? This is the 4th indicator of fraud. 5. Amanda Walker claimed to be the Global Head of Ceridian UK during the Skype interview. Later, in the contract they sent, she was being referred as Director of Operations. Linkedin profile shows Amanda Walker as Enterprise Sales Director at Ceridian! I strongly believe the LinkedIn profile of Amanda may be original however the scammers may have used her name and image to prove legitimacy (using a foreign lady so that poor Indians will believe the deal as original) by creating a fake Skype ID on her name [Screen snapshot of Skype profile attached]. This is the 5th indicator of fraud. 6. The SLA document they sent contained Ceridian logo [attached] with the type of services being offered. According to Ceridian website they do only HR and Payroll related services. According to the contract they sent, the footer of the letterhead says their lines of business include: Outsourcing | Software Development | Web Design & Development | Data Entry | Call Center | IT Infrastructure Management | SEO | Desktop Support | Networking | Transcription | Hr Solutions | Data Center | Import Export. Never heard these lines of businesses being offered by Ceridian!! This is the 6th indicator of fraud. 7. Lastly, they blindly lists their Company’s Federal ID No., Corporation Tax. No., Incorporation ID No. and Director Identification Number in the footer of the letterhead! No company will list these sensitive information on their letterhead, which indicates the letterhead is being made fraudulently. This will be the 7th indicator of fraud. 8. The SLA document mirrored word to word with many other contracts and SLAs being sent by many fake companies that offers fake data entry projects over the internet. I have contacted one of the senior management team members at Ceridian UK who confirmed that they had not contracted anyone to offer such projects for outsourcing. Beware of these scammers and stay away to save your time and money!
