This is Dolly Gupta, mother of Aishik Gupta, who studied in National School of Business from 2014-16 . This review however is to express utter dissatisfaction, disappointment and a sense of betrayal due to a particular incident involving Aishik’s classmate Divya Nandakumar.
It is a known fact that during Aishik’s stay in National School of Business, he came in close proximity with his classmate Divya Nandakumar. And there is nothing wrong in that considering that both were meritorious and both had admiration towards each other. But the manner in which college administration handled the situation was highly biased, utterly cheap and beyond any tolerable limits of incivility. Despite being a top student who contributed more than anyone else to college, my son was manhandled by Prof. Sridhar Murthy, Prof. Srinidhi Parthasarathi and Mr. Ved Mouly in his private cabin and made to forcibly sign on a paper where concocted facts were written and Prof. Murthy tried to hit my son with a paperweight. My son informed us about this later otherwise we would have probably taken all of them to the police and filed a complaint. My son felt that Prof. Murthy tried to hit him out of jealousy against my son’s intellectual capabilities rather than taking the side of Divya because had that been the case then he should have contacted her parents immediately. He even later informed me the reasons why Divya Nandakumar and my son separated, hearing which not only as a mother did I empathize with Divya’s mother but was shocked to see how disrespectful of women can these highly educated men running an educational institute can be. My son is associated with few Women’s Rights Activist from Chennai, Divya’s hometown. He has shared the issue with them and even they got extremely angry with these so-called educationists. Instead of recognizing the gravity of the matter and contacting Divya Nandakumar’s parents which I, as a parent feel would have been the correct choice of action, the college administration irritated us and harassed us at odd hours of the day when we were engaged in serious work. I am a teacher and my husband, Aishik’s dad is a doctor. We are busy always. We would definitely not like if our work gets interrupted on issues that is more the responsibility of Divya Nanadakumar’s parents rather than us. We were befooled by the administration and we had to stupidly travel miles from Jamshedpur to Bangalore spending money for a matter which we later found to be the responsibility of Divya’s parents. However it wasn’t good on Divya’s part to repeatedly approach the college administration on petty issues just to frighten Aishik and the administration blindly singing to the tunes of Divya Nandakumar even after my son Aishik shared with Prof. Parthasarathi and Prof. Murthy the gravity of the matter. What kind of cheap behavior was this??? That too with Aishik and Aishik’s parents assuming that we are ‘educated fools’. You are disrespecting us. We were nice that we didn’t take action against administration in this matter, which we should have but that doesn’t mean you will keep taking us for granted. And Aishik has been very honest with me. The fault lies equally with Divya and it is also a grave matter for her parents. So why weren’t they contacted. Prof. Murthy bluffed Aishik that her parents were contacted but it can’t be the case otherwise the matter would have ended . Aishik has shown me all messages honestly. Completely disappointed on this specific matter. After all we have some dignity.
