I am a bit surprised at the tactic played by sbcstore online stationary shop.
I was in need of some stationary worth just 500 INR. But unfortunately it was not available in local stores. I finally found it on this online store called sbcstore. While this is not big as amazon I thought let me go ahead and place my order.
There were various shipping options available from Indiapost to Expressbee. I choose cash on delivery by a courier partner. Everything appeared normal. The estimated shipping cost was about 70 INR which was fine with me.
But the thing is the owner wanted pre-payment. So they called me and said that there’s an issue with chosen courier partner and we can sent it by amazon if you want cash on delivery but they are charging Rs 200 for this service. But we can send it by cheaper provider if you pay now.
The thing is this was a tactic. They took only 70 INR from me as shipping and finally sent the parcel by amazon shipping only. Basically this was a tactic to get pre-payment. Their COD method is only a farce. They want pre-payment and for which played this tactic of decoy effect.
I am disappointed. I would have appreciated if they would have removed the COD option in the first place. Why do this decoy effect farce. So many online shops take pre-payment.
