The monthly pass, which was previously priced at ₹1000, has now been increased to ₹1650—a significant jump that places a financial strain on regular commuters, especially senior citizens and middle-income individuals who rely on public transport for their daily needs.
Public transport is meant to be an affordable and accessible option for all. This sudden increase not only affects our monthly budgets but also discourages the use of sustainable transport. I kindly urge TSRTC to reconsider this decision and restore the citizen pass charges to their earlier rate of ₹1000, or at least introduce a more reasonable pricing structure that reflects the needs of the public.
