I want you to know that I used the MakeMyTrip website to book my airline tickets on April 6, 2023, so I could travel from Aizawl to Bangalore.
Since this was the incorrect route, Indigo at Aizawl cancelled it, and the Indigo Airport Office then booked a new ticket at full price.
Refund request
Now, I’m asking you to reimburse the full sum taken in by the Indigo Airport office in Aizawl and the taxi fare from Bangalore Airport to my home.
On April 7, 2023, I purchased a ticket on Air Indigo for a trip from Aizawl to Bangalore on the seventh Friday. I also paid for onboard meals and a taxi from the Bangalore airport to my home. On April 6, 2023, this was done while waiting in the Indigo departure area at Guwahati Airport.
Unfortunately, the MakeMyTrip website sent me the wrong electronic ticket, one that would have taken me from Aizawl to Bangalore via Kolkata on April 7, 2023, instead of Guwahati, Kolkata, and Bangalore on April 8, 2023.
I never requested a hotel room in Kolkata. I intended to arrive in Bangalore on April 7, 2023.
The MakeMyTrip website made the error.
1. I requested to arrive in Bangalore on the 7th Friday in 2023 rather than the 8th Saturday.
2. As soon as I arrived in Aizawl, I took this ticket to the Indigo office at the airport, located on 6th, and requested a change. The employees there cancelled the aforementioned ticket and rebooked it for travel from Aizawl to Bangalore via Kolkata on Friday, July 7, 2023 (the following day). However, he kept the full amount of over Rs. 13,000 that I had paid with my Citi Card.
3. The Indigo office at Aizawl Airport refused to give me the senior citizen discount.
4. A day prior to my flight, I made a request to the Indigo office at the Aizawl Airport to correct a mistake made by the MakeMyTrip website and have me fly directly to Bangalore from Aizawl.
As a senior citizen, I now ask that you reimburse the over Rs. 13,000 that the Aizawl Airport Indigo office collected on April 6, 2023, as well as the roughly Rs. 730 in taxi fair fares that the MakeMyTrip website also collected.
