I hereby submit this legal petition to draw attention to the serious loss and damage Metur Parcel Service caused to my shipment and to request appropriate redress for the same.
Case-Related Facts:
I used Metur Parcel Service’s services on May 15, 2023, to send a package from Karunkal, in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, to [Destination Address].
Metur Parcel Service delivered the package about a week later, on May 20, 2023.
When I opened the package, I saw that it had been badly damaged, with the packaging ripped and all the contents in a wasted and lost state.
The parcel’s damage is a blatant sign of carelessness and improper handling during delivery, which has cost me a lot of money and inconvenience.
Default in Duty:
Metur Parcel Service did not handle the shipment with the care and caution that would be expected of a reputable courier service.
The shipment’s loss and damage show a failure on their part to carry the package to its destination securely and safely.
Legal Bases:
Metur Parcel Service violated their duty of care by losing and damaging the shipment, which amounted to a breach of the agreement we had made.
According to the Consumer Protection Act, I have the right to services of acceptable quality and to protection from carelessness and misconduct.
Relief Needed:
Compensation: I ask for compensation in the amount of $10,000, which reflects the value of the lost goods and the inconvenience they caused, for the lost and damaged goods.
Refund: I ask for a complete reimbursement of the shipping costs I incurred by using Metur Parcel Service.
Damages: Because of the mental anguish and inconvenience this incident has caused, I ask the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum to award me additional compensation.
Prevention: I implore the forum to see to it that Metur Parcel Service takes the necessary corrective steps to stop similar incidents from happening in the future while protecting the rights of other customers.
