The below is the email I have issued to RAK bank after speaking to numerous employees. The fundamental issue is that I received funds for a personal loan and no more than 24 hours later I am now being chased by their debt collections team. After sending this email, the only corespondence I have received was a threatening phone call from a guys called Tariq who also asked my wife for selfies very inappropriately. I just cannot believe the level of service you deal with at RAK bank and in hindsight I would have been better staying with my original bank had I know what traumas this would cause…

Loan Payment – Personal Loan Agreement # 20400375

Dear Vinoth,

The lack of response to my various emails and phone calls is very concerning as I attach the offer letter received from you in May 2017 that did not stipulate a loan payment start date.

As you are fully aware, my loan was only released to me on the 29th of June 2017, yet I had the debt collections team phoning me 24 hours later to say that I need to pay my first installment. As im sure you are familiar with bank policy, once the money is released you have 30 to 45 days to make your first payment and not 24 hours. I have also attached a screen shot taken on the 29th of June 2017 showing that my first payment was only due on the 1st of August 2017. After speaking with Tariq who we met with you in my apartment, he told me to go to a branch to try and get the payment differed and Mr Murtuza Nalwala (customer service officer) spoke with Tariq while I was there and said this was not possible within the first 6 months of the loan or to try take out a loan to pay my loan payment via my credit card which was also refused by the RAK credit card team.

I would appreciate you to even answer one of my phone calls or emails as ignoring me after you now have my business does is not the right way to do business. You can resolve this according to Mr. Murtuza Nalwala and according to the debt collections department and that’s why i am very concerned as to why you are ignoring me.

The above is an extract from your business ethos which I do not feel is being followed. All I ask from you is that I make my payments for my loan from the 1st of August 2017, 30 days after the money was released as per what agreed when you sought my business.

I have also attached my salary transfer letter to RAK bank that clearly states that ONLY my July onwards salaries will be available for my loan payments to RAK bank and not my June salary as this was owned by Emirates Islamic (Murad Zughair – Branch Manager copied in) and not by RAK bank therefore if RAK bank want to take a double payment from my July salary I will have no money for rent or food which is against how the loan was structured as I cannot have more than 50% of my salary being paid towards a loan.

Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated as this is really effecting my family and my health.
