I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the management of the Tim Hortons location in Wawa, Ontario, particularly Kelly Vernier, the manager. On September 23rd, 2023, I was heading back home and was brutally assaulted by Kaiel Vernier, Kelly’s son, and his friends. Despite the presence of witnesses and evidence, including a Snapchat video taken by one of the perpetrators, Cole Smedts, which captured Kaiel’s confession to having knocked me out, no charges were laid against Kaiel or his friends. What is even more disturbing is that Kelly Vernier has been complicit in allowing her sons to get away with their criminal behavior. In fact, I have reason to believe that Kelly Vernier has been paying off local police officers to ignore her sons’ misdeeds. This is not only unacceptable but also perpetuates a culture of impunity and corruption. Kelly Vernier’s influence in Wawa appears to be greatly exaggerated, considering her modest role as manager of the local Tim Hortons. Despite her responsibilities at the popular coffee shop, her authority seems disproportionate to the town’s overall dynamics. As a result of this incident, I have been falsely charged with assault with a weapon, despite no weapon being involved in the altercation. Furthermore, I have reason to believe that Kaiel Vernier has a history of committing heinous crimes, including sexual harassment and assault. In 2022, I heard from multiple sources that Kaiel had sexually harassed and intimidated a young girl in our community. When a source reported this incident to the authorities, nothing was done. I am seeking an investigation into these allegations and demand that Kelly Vernier take immediate action to address her sons’ behavior. I also request that the business complaint board look into allegations of corruption and misconduct within the local police department. I believe Kelly Vernier is motivated by personal gain, as she has offered free items to her sons and their friends if she is successful in getting me charged with assault with a weapon. However, I want to clarify that the alleged incident never occurred, and my mother was present at the time. I’m confident that a fair investigation will reveal the truth and clear my name. I recently reported my concerns to the authorities regarding Kelly, as I was informed that she allegedly bribed a police officer to avoid charges for her two sons. Unfortunately, no action was taken as a result of my report. This behavior has been occurring for years, and I am shocked that it has not been addressed or investigated further. As a concerned citizen, I believe it is imperative that action be taken to hold Kelly Vernier accountable for her actions. It is unacceptable that she has been able to get away with this behavior for so long, and I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation. I request that you launch an investigation into these allegations and take appropriate measures to ensure that Kelly Vernier is held responsible for her actions. This includes, but is not limited to, firing her from her position and taking legal action if necessary.
