Noise Pollution in Sec-16 Rohini

I am Abhishek Sanyal, staying in Rohini (H1-H2 Block) Sec-16 along with my father. This is to inform you about the nuisance and chaotic situation which we have to face daily in our locality. The area in which we stay has become a hub for noise pollution. The daily chorum lasts from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and sometimes even upto 9:30 am in weekdays. This dividing road of H1 and H2 Sec-16 Rohini area is gradually getting filled up by psycho honkers and unsocial elements. Everyday the school cabs would come to pick up the children and the cab drivers would just keep on honking continuously until the child comes near the cab, the parents being totally indifferent. We had personally requested the cab drivers in past to honk twice or thrice only but they would just not listen. The second session of car honking lasts from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The result is that their activities is being taken as an encouraging example by other vehicles which pass by our locality. Sometimes the noise pollution due to honking is so much, that it crosses about 80 dBs in day time. Moreover there are records of continuous honking during odd hours like 1:00 am to 2:00 am early in the morning. Our mental peace is getting disturbed and our lives have become worse than hell. My father is a B.P and heart patient and I am myself a serious gastric patient. Sometimes I have to sleep late nights due to my disease. My father is a patient of Insomnia also. So, the continuous honking at early hours of morning proves to be very much irritating and annoying to us. It is my belief that it may be annoying to other colony members as well. But they just behave as mute spectators, hopefully enjoying this type of nuisance. Besides honking, there are often other sources of noise pollution in the colony such as loud music and drum beats on the roads.
Since we are educated citizens of India and cannot take the Law in our own hands, so it is requested that you may take some suitable action against this and investigate about the whole matter by some responsible police officers in plain dress. It is my earnest request to take some preventive measures against this issue. Please make each cab driver understand how much disturbing the continuous honking is for us. The parents may please be requested to send their child before the cabs arrive and a close watch may be kept on the colony activities from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm.
Thanking You,
Yours Sincerely,
Abhishek Sanyal
