I am to refer to the consignment no. V13772721, dated 30-09-2013, booked at Patna for delivery to Umreth, Gujarat and to inform that the article has not been delivered yet after expiry of more than a week. There were two holy books inside the bag which was needed to be delivered on priority basis before the beginning of Navaratra (05-10-13) and I have opted for DTDC courier showing more faith in it than Speed Post/Registered. As per the online tracking status, the item was despatched from Patna Apex on 30-09-13 & reached Vadodara Apex on 01-10-2013. The article was held up till 04-10-13 by DTDC franchisee, Semi basement NO.3, Pradhan Enclave, Urmi Char Rasta, Srinagar Society, Dinesh Mill Road, Akota,(9327490929). There were many phone calls attempted by myself and Patna DTDC franchisee as well but in response, either the phones were switched off or the call had been rejected. At last I had a conversation with the personnel at DTDC, Vadodara and she expressed that there is no service of DTDC to Umreth and either you need to collect the article from the centre or the same will be returned to the sender. I have requested them to make arrangement for delivery and necessary charges, if any may also be claimed from the recipient. While they did one thing that they have processed the bag to Anand on 04-10-13 in a way to just transfer the responsibility to another shoulder.

Anyway, I established contact with Mr. Mihir, Sojitra Road, Vithal Udyognagar, Gujarat-388121 (Mob.No. +918530414142) and made a call on 08-10-2013 at around 1400 hrs and requested that there is inconvenient for the recipient to collect the articles from Anand as all were ladies but Mr. Mihir had expressed his desire not to deliver the articles to the recipient as there is no service in Umreth and thereafter started to explain me the things that has nothing to do with the delivery system, the extract of the communication was “Aap ko kya malum umreth gaanv hai ya shahar, kitna dur jaana padega, patna me baith kar book to kar diye lekin kuchh pata nahi hai aapko ab main aapko sikhata hu ki delivery kaise hota hai, aapko supreme court jana hai to jao lekin main isse wapas karunga.” In the whole context, I have some queries with the DTDC group:-
• That, are the DTDC franchisee the representative of DTDC group?
• That, the words expressed by the franchisee is their own or of DTDC group?
• Should responsibility be not fixed on the franchisee?
• Should the franchisee/services of franchisee be continued keeping above in view?
• If there is no service in a place, then why there is a provision to book the article for the said place.
• How would a customer still have the faith in DTDC services for its express delivery?
• Is there any provision to withdraw the franchisee? if so, then why should the franchisee of DTDC, Anand be not withdrawn?
