Sir,

had puchased a motorola cellphone moto E 2 handset through Ebay on 7Jul 16. The set was delivered as oer schedule in a physically satisfactory condition. However after using the set for 4 months, the set stopped recognising the sim card inserted in the slots. When the set was taken to the authorised service centre they said that there was a problem with hardware necessitating change of board which would be payable (3800/-) as ebay sale was not covered under warranty.

When contacted ebay, they were unresponsive intially, however after many attempts, they asked me to resolve the issue with the seller. On contacting the seller, it has been found that the seller is non existent at the address provided (Bengaluru) and there is no response on his cell.

My mail to motorola service saying the customer was not appropriately informed about the warranty not being applicable to ebay sale has not elicited any assistance from them. I have even written to them about the helpnessness of a customer when the company does not appropriately advertise about its warrant not being applicable in the case of selected online sales, but there has been no response.

Now, as acustomer I am left with a defective handset piece with no warranty for a bonafide purchase and no support from either the seller or the product manufacturer.
