On 16-Apr-2017, I was at Tirupathy railway station with a confirmed ticket along with family to board the Sapthagiri express (16058) to Chennai (PNR 4850011816).

The scheduled departure time is 1750 hours. We were at the station at 1715 hours itself. The display board showed the train to depart from PF1. So we were waiting on PF1. At that time, the Tirupathy-Mannargudi train was parked on PF1 with all doors & windows shut. This totally obscured our view of what’s there on the other side of the train. We obviously thought our train would come on PF1 as soon the idle train moves.

There was no speaker for the Public Address system at the place on PF1 where we along with several other passengers were waiting.

At 1805 hours, we suspected something foul, so walked along the platform and heard that Sapthagiri express already departed from PF2. We were baffled for missing the train with no fault of ours. Not only us, but also several other passengers.

Further, even at 1810 hours, the display board still read PF1 for Sapthagiri express. I had even taken picture of the same in my mobile.

Please address the issue and grant me compensation in this regard.
