Beware of such these fraudsters when you are in Goa. They will cherry pick you at some fancy tourist location. I got trapped at Fort Agora, Goa on 19 Feb 2021. They have got a huge team of Scammers with well planned scripted story to trap you. They will keep an eye on you and would approach with some scratch card offers which obviously falls you in another trap. As every card offered by that scammer has got something to offer (which I understood later). He would surprise you saying that “you are lucky winner, out of 100 cards which he has been selling since morning, you are the first one to get something”. He would ask you to visit “Liam Lifestyle Holidays, Highland Beach Resort, Sequeira Vaddo, Candolim, Candolim, Goa 403515” to collect one of the 4 prizes which were mentioned on that card. He got us there.

I reached Highland resort along with my wife wherein I was greeted well by a lady who gave us tour of the property. She was very well prepared with the sales script. She introduced us to their Sales Managers who took over the conversation and showed us some fancy flamboyant slides of some luxury properties like Hyatt, Radisson, Novotel and many more. Their conversation started with the questions “Sir! where are you staying and how much you are paying”. I was staying in some 4 star Hotel. Then they mentioned “what if we offer you to stay in Hotels like Hyatt, Radisson, Novotel and other similar 5 stars in a price way less than you are already paying for your stay”. There and then they presented best of their story and some fantasy world. They offered me to take the membership plan for 10 years. I was skeptical towards taking any such service as being a middle class I couldn’t afford to take some membership from some unknown organization which costs around Rs 2 Lakhs. Looking at my behaviour, another manager pitched in and showed some whatsapp chat and pictures of few of their clients and also called one of them to speak to us and make us believe them (not sure if those clients were also a part of their full fledged scam). Still, I was not at all ready to pay Rs 2 lakh as I did not have that amount. Looking at the situation, another manager hopped in and offered us the trail package for 1 year which costs around Rs 19000. They all together spent 4-5 hours convincing us. I was not even ready to pay Rs 19000 after which they offered No Cost EMIs for 12 Months. I was so embarrassed as 3 Managers were standing on my head convincing me to see what LIAM offers. They got me there. I took the package and I ended up wasting whole day there at LIAM. This is one part of the story.

The another one started few weeks back when I thought of planning a vacation with my Family in Goa in late November 2021. I dropped an email to LIAM to share the list of 5 star properties available for the requested dates in Goa. To my shock, I was being told that I cannot take 5 star properties with the trial package. I had escalated this to the customer care team that no one from sales while selling the package had informed us of such a clause. Even, the manager who sold us the package insisted us to use the membership to stay in some 5 star properties to make us believe the kind of luxury LIAM offers. But I was astonished to hear the response from customer care team that they cannot offer 5 star stays with my package. I tried contacting the sales manager but he never responded to my calls. Then, I tried to contact another person from their team and saw a significant change in her tone of voice with the way she greeted us initially in Feb and now. She also refused any such conversation though she was part of all the communication that has happened.

I raised the concern and after speaking to so many people from Booking and customer care team and sending numerous emails, the manager from customer care team assured that they would share list of some good 4 star properties for which I need to pay some exchange fee. I had no other option except to agree on what they could offer. You will be shocked to see the properties they then offered. Please see the below options. These are the Liam listed properties. Feel free to check what Liam offers. This is their luxury.
1) Kay’s River view Resort.
2)Hotel Goa Continental.
3)Star Beach Resort.
4)Namo Namah Resort.

I was so disappointed and have wasted another few days to get the list of some good 4 star properties for which I was ready to pay the exchange fee. Again, they were only able to offer Kyriad, Calangute to which I agreed and shared the detailed list of people who would be staying. I didn’t realize that they have now started cooking something else with some other master plan to fool their customer. From this day to the next 10, LIAM people both from booking and customer care team lashed out on me, they misbehaved, shouted, they lied everyday. They were so double minded and contradicted in their statements. Sometimes they say November is the peak season and they are getting high volumes and they serve their client on first come first serve basis. On the other hand, they say “Sir, November is really far and your booking is still a month away. Don’t worry, your booking is confirmed, we will be sharing the vouchers 10 days before your stay”. I doubted them and call Kyriad Calangute directly to check if Liam has booked the dates in my name or may be LIAM (as they confirmed earlier) but again to my surprise, no booking request was made. I wasted 23 days talking to different people at LIAM, calling them everyday, requested them to do the booking and share the vouchers. But nothing worked except for the insult LIAM did to me, mental harassment and misbehaviour by LIAM team.

After 23 days now, they have sent an email that Kyriad is not available for my requested dates. I confirmed the details with LIAM 11 days back and requested the booking for Kyriad. There were many options available at Kyriad at that time and that too at very cheap price. But now I realized that it was all planned, they never intended to do the booking at Kyriad. They were just waiting for the hotel to show booked on requested Nov dates on every booking portal so that they give an excuse.

My hard earned money is stuck now. I will go legal in case they refused to refund the membership amount. This is an eye opener for me and might save many people from getting trapped by such fraudsters.
