I recently registered on shine.com under the name Kashyap Mishra. A representative from Shine.com called me on “20-Nov-2023” and gave me an overview of their paid services, which have a nominal cost of Rs. 3657.
Then he said that I wouldn’t need to pay anything more because they would assign me a personal “Relationship Manager” who would work closely with me to help me find a new job within a few months for this small fee alone.
After I paid the Rs. 3657, he said they would assign me a Relationship Manager, who would contact me to discuss my job requirements and assist me in finding a suitable position as soon as possible.
The following day, on “21-Nov-2023,” I received a call from “RK Sahu,” the relationship manager. He asked me about my preferences for a job and, after an hour of discussion, informed me that, in order to get a good job, I would need to pay two services (the second and third payments are listed below) totaling Rs. 13,783/-and receive lifetime service from the excellent shine.com.
I reluctantly paid the next two installments because he had told me that was the last one and that I wouldn’t need to pay again, but after that, he had told me that I would need to pay Rs. 12,963/-for the fourth payment, which is listed below, in order to receive the additional service.
I feel suspicious, but I paid this amount too because he exuded confidence. Subsequently, he requested me to pay an additional Rs. 17,827 as a final payment. I informed him that this was fraudulent and asked him to speak with his manager. When I did, his manager informed me that this service is necessary in order to obtain a good job. The other four services I purchased will be “forfeit” and have no purpose if I don’t use this one.
Then, I asked his manager to grant me a complete refund because this was obviously fraud or cheating, but they refused, claiming Shine did not have a refund system.I made the payments listed below to shine.com: I have paid Rs. 30,403/-in total.
First payment (Paid) -> Rs.3657/- (Nominal price)
Second payment (Paid) Rs.5427/- (Product :- interview and hiring test, LinkedIn profile summary)
Third payment (Paid) -> Rs.8259/- (Product:- Career assessment test with expert counseling) Fourth payment (Paid) -> Rs.12,963/- (Product :- education verification + package to feature profile)
Fifth payment (I denied as understood something fishy here)-> Rs.17,827/- (Product:-Visual resume for experience professional)
I would be extremely grateful if you could assist me in receiving my complete reimbursement of Rs. 30,403 from Shine.com as soon as possible. If you require any additional information or details from my end, kindly let me know.
