The Rankguru app was introduced by the Srichaitanya management in 2020 during a pandemic. Additionally, they’ve gotten an average of 1500 from each student.
There were no offline classes available at the time, only online courses, so no one had a choice but to pay what they asked.
It will be required starting in 2021, and they will begin to collect about 25% more annually. Now almost every class costs more than 2000.
They therefore have more than 300 branches (only in AP and Telangana), and the average student population is over 1000.
So, they are bringing in about 60 crores (which will undoubtedly be a lot).
They will definitely not spend 5%, or 3 crore, of the total income they receive on the app.
(I am an app developer and can maintain this app for 10 rupees per student, where they are currently collecting more than 2000).
I’m hoping that someone will look into this and decide to make this awful app optional rather than required for all students.
Additionally, the cost of books is very high when compared to CBSE schools (for example, the cost of books for a student in the sixth grade this year was only 10k+).
