I had given my wedding saree for drycleaners at your TumbleDry outlet on No: 1/1, Bharathi Street, 70 Feet Rd, Kannammapet, T. Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600015. The manager in charge is Mohamed Khalid.
I had gone with my mother and given 8 sarees, 4 wedding, 1 nine-yards and 3 high end silk. Out of the 4 wedding saree, 1 was a green saree with crystals on the whole saree. We had clearly told Khalid to have a look at the saree and not do anything to the saree if he thinks there will be a risk to the saree. Khalid checked the saree, confirmed it’s in good condition and said he will check if the saree can be dry cleaned.
A week later, Khalid called back saying the green saree Is torn in multiple places. This was impossible as Khalid had checked the saree and the saree was also worn a week earlier for a wedding. The bridal artist who helped drape the saree confirmed that the saree was in a perfect condition with no tears.
When all the sarees came a mere 2 hours later, it was obvious that the green saree had been put through a machine and thus destroyed. When we first asked Khalid, he denied it and said sarees are small pieces of clothes stitched together and the stitching has come off. When we called up the tumble dry HQ, the guy was equally rude, just banging the phone on us. When confronted, then Khalid admitted that the saree had been put through a machine.
The saree’s value is close to Rs. 75,000. Add in the sentimental value as it’s a wedding saree, it becomes priceless.
Tumbledry and especially khalid have shown to have no honesty and integrity in your dealings. To top it all off, he billed us for the destroyed saree saying it’s been drycleaned!!
I had given my saree to tumbledry as they have a good reputation and I wanted to get it cleaned before heading back to the US. But instead you guys were rude, dishonest and utterly shameless. I will be publishing this complaint publicly and let all my NRI friends know about this to ensure they do not trust you guys.
