I booked my daughters roundtrip ticket on Qatar airways from Boston to Bengaluru on Goibibo on Feb 2, 2010 with Booking ID: MYSMF528204920. This was for travel in May 2020 and the return flight for Sept 2020.
The flight was canceled because of Covid-19. We kept chasing Goibibo for refund, but with no luck. They kept lying to us that the airlines has not refunded the amount to them. We finally gave up and started following up with Qatar airways. We got an email confirmation from them that they had refunded the amount long back to Goibibo. With this email we started again following up with Goibibo and this time they confirmed that they have received the refund, as we had the email proof from Qatar Airways. Finally after more than a yers, i got the refund back, but they deducted convenience charge of Rs 1029.
On their website, they clearly state that they will not be charging any fee for cancelation (which by the way we didn’t even cancel. The airline canceled the flight). After using our significant amount of Rs59,00/-for more than 6 months, they went ahed and charged this convenience fee (convenience to who?) and they say it cannot be adjusted. So, they are making false claims on their website about not charging any fee during Covid lockdown because of uncertainty.
We are clearly no longer giving any future business to Goibibo. And i hope that the law forces them to abide by their claims on their website. I also have a snapshot taken from their website, but i don’t see any option of uploading it here.
Please advice.
