Jet airways – Denial of seat for a confirmd air ticket in Jet airways

I was scheduled to travel from Coimbatore to Chennai on 19th Sep by Jet airways flight no 9W 2766 departing at 6.50pm. Though I arrived intime at the counter to collect my boarding pass I was denied seat by the staff at the counter stating that they have over booked the tickets and unexpectedly all the customers have confirmed and they have issued boarding pass to the customers who have arrived first.

Since it is not my mistake they offered me a ticket at their cost by the next flight – Spice Jet , Flight no. 284- leaving at 8.30pm. So I demanded for a written note / apology from the counter staff and they were not ready to give in writing.

But they came-up with a compensation amount of Rs.3000 for the inconvenience. Initially I refused to accept but then thought that the form they carried for my sign to pay the compensation can help me take up the case and received the compensation amount.

Now I want to take up the matter legally.

Can some one help me on the process of taking action against Jet airways for their wrong practice of not valuing customer time?
