Delay of more than 7 months in refunding cancelled flight amount refunded to MMT by British Airways on 8th July 2020
My daughter Sakshi Jain booked a ticket for my (Dr. Ajai Kumar Jain) travel from London Heathrow to San Jose and back on British Airways through the booking agency Makemytrip.com, on 14th January 2020, vide their booking ref: NN7811651249314. The airline PNR for this booking is JKBKE7 and the e-ticket number is 125-3317410564. The travel was planned for 25th July 2020 for the onward journey and the return was booked for 15th August 2020. Due to the covid-19 pandemic and ban on travel from UK to USA, the flight from London to San Jose was cancelled by the British Airways.
The ticket cancellation request was placed on 2/5/20 and on 23/5/20 after the travel ban was enforced for travel from UK to USA. British Airways cancelled the booking and made a full refund of the booking amount INR 62,473.00 to Makemytrip booking agency. The refund according to the Brirtish Airways was done to Makemytrip on 8th July 2020. It is deeply regretted that the refund amount has not yet been paid by Makemytrip to my daughter Sakshi Jain till today that is 12th October 2020.
