Hi, my name is Antonio from Lebanon and living in Dubai. I travel a lot to lebanon and mostly I use flydubai due to the prices and the flights availability.
During last month I was coming from BEY to DXB on the 2nd of June 2018 and my flight was at 10:55pm. My ticket allowance for luggage was 40kg+7kg as carry on.
During my check in in Beirut airport I have only the carry on and I know that it was overweight average 12kg but I don’t have other bags and even I don’t have laptop or cross bag.
I told the guy sitting on the counter that I need to take this back as carry on for 2 reasons; first I have a business flight from dubai to Bahrain at 10 am and I don’t have time to wait and get the bag from the belt and the second reason there is food inside this bag.
Unfortunately, this guy don’t have of the communication skills that should be a must from front desk employee, even if he communicate with polite people and they are talking in a professional way, he told me I don’t care I have rules that I need to follow and you cannot take this bag with you, then the manger came and also he need thousands of sessions regarding the communication skills and customer care, he told me if I know that any of my employee accept a carry-on more than 8kg I will fire him the same day. I don’t know how he can control this and he was sitting away and playing with his phone.
I was polite and I send my bag and one of your staff try to offer a free exit seat but I didn’t accept I told her try to satisfy me by having my bag with me on the plane.
Till now it was acceptable for me because there is rules and this employee is following them, but when we was waiting for boarding I saw many peoples having very big carry-on bags, I went to the manager and I told him if you are following the rules and you know your employee let us bring a scale and check the weight of this bags and if they are more than 8kg you should fire this guy because he is not professional at all. The shock was that the weights of 4 bags were more the 15kg.
For me it’s not acceptable if you have rules and I doubt, why your employee are not following them and they should treat all peoples the same and you should check what kind of managers you are hiring.
Note that from jan 18 till may I fly with your airlines more than 3 times but from now on I prefer to pay more and get a better service specially to deal with people that know how to communicate and to have manger looking for the customer satisfaction instead of staying hours on his personal mobile.
Really with you I had the bad aviation experience.
