I purchased an 18 carat necklace and a chain from Pure Gold store at Abu Dhabi international airport on 31.10.2022.
The weight the seller mentioned was more than 8 grams. The invoice (scanned copy attached) price is AED 1618. I was in a hurry so I didn’t cross check by currency conversion and showed trust as ‘Pure Gold’ is a brand and there will be no instance of fraud.
But when I saw the invoice, I was surprised to see that the weight wasn’t mentioned. When I showed the jewelry to my parents in India they were skeptical about the weight as well. Then I showed it to our local jeweller who weighed it and he found that the total weight was less than 4 gms.
The gold rate in Abudhabi per gm is AED 153. So, the price for 4 gms will be 612 AED. So I wanted to know what are the 1000+ charges for? Are they design charges?
