We, a group of 60 Doctors and their family members from the Indian Medical Association, Perambur had decided to go for a tour of Kashmir during the summer holidays. With the said fond hope we had approached the Cox & Kings Ltd., Annanagar to organize the tour for us
We paid a consolidated sum of Rs.22,07,700/- (Rupees Twenty Two Lakh Seven Thousand and Seven Hundred Only) for all the 60 members of the group, towards the tour which is inclusive of air tickets, hotel accommodation, food and sightseeing expenses.
On 28.02.2018, we made a preliminary payment of Rupees Ten Lakhs, subsequently on 16.04.2018 another sum of Rupees Twelve Lakh Seven Thousand and Seven Hundred was paid by us.
The Cox & Kings Ltd., had issued the travel itinerary and had booked air tickets for us from Chennai to New Delhi by IndiGo Flight No.6E976 and from New Delhi to Srinagar vide Indigo Flight No.6E 203 for due travel on 08.05.2018, the PNR numbers were “FH6E6K” and “IDBZSZ” as a total of 60 tickets (55 tickets and 5 tickets) and return flight from Srinagar to New Delhi on 14.05.2018 vide IndiGo Flight No. 6E 554 and from New Delhi to Chennai vide IndiGo flight No. 6E 2694 on 14.05.2018.

We, after confirming the tour details with the Cox & Kings Ltd., had made all arrangements for the tour and were all eager and ready to spend a beautiful, relaxed vacation. We had called the Cox & Kings Ltd.,Annanagar on 07.05.2018 the day before the date of travel to check whether everything was on schedule and as there was no response from the Cox & Kings Ltd.,, we had called the call center of the Indigo airlines to enquire if the flight was on time. To our shock and surprise, we were informed by the call center of the Indigo airlines that the flight from New Delhi to Srinagar stood cancelled and that the fact of the said cancellation was already informed to Cox & Kings Ltd., a few days back itself.

The call center personnel of the Indigo airlines told us that they had already informed the Cox & Kings Ltd., through email and SMS about the flight cancellation a few days back, which the Cox & Kings Ltd., had failed to intimate us. Immediately thereafter we contacted Cox & Kinks Ltd., over phone on the late evening of 07.05.2018 which was the day, before the date, the group was supposed to travel and had pleaded with the Cox & Kings Ltd., to make alternate arrangements for the travel so that we could continue our planned trip to Kashmir as we had paid heavily for the hotel, transport, food and sightseeing bookings through Cox & Kings Ltd., We informed the Cox & Kings Ltd., we were even willing to travel with our families in different flights to reach the destination so that the holiday planned does not go awry. However the Cox & Kings Ltd., said that there were no tickets available in any other airline and were very lethargic and did not take any effort to make alternate arrangements and made it clear that the tour was cancelled.

Since Cox & Kings Ltd., had failed to make any alternate arrangements for the trip, we had requested a refund of the money paid towards airline tickets, accommodation in Kashmir, food and sightseeing fares. The Cox & Kings Ltd., bluntly refused to refund any of the money paid to them by us.
This shows the utter CHEATING by Cox & Kings Ltd., in trying to usurp our money without even conducting the tour and cancelling the tour for no fault of us.
We request all to spread this message to everyone, so that others are not cheated by them in future
