Ola Electric – not got refund

On May 28, 2023, my father made a down payment of Rs. 45,000 to reserve an Ola S1 Pro (Order ID: 0523-FNC973), and he also took out a vehicle loan for Rs. 1,03,999. Later, they stopped providing the subsidy and started demanding an additional Rs. 15000, so on June 2, 2023, we cancelled the order.

We were able to recover the Rs. 45,000 (down payment) after several rounds of discussions with the manager of the outlet where we made the reservation, but the loan had already been disbursed. We sent numerous emails to the Ola Customer Care email address, but received only automated responses telling us to wait 7–10 days for a refund.

The company has caused a lot of stress for my elderly father. The bank that provided the loan hasn’t received its money back, and after the loan was canceled, my dad’s account was debited for the EMI payment for a car that we don’t actually own. How immoral is this for a business?

He has been going to the company outlet to get help returning the money to the bank because there is no proper customer support and resolution mechanism.

This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional behavior on the part of a business towards its clients.
