My sister booked a flight through goibi bo for AIR INDIA (PNR : Y6TP2)from DEL-YYR. There was a halt in Chicago for about 2:20 hr. So i called the customer for confirming, if i require any transit visa. She was miss guided by airlines customer care for the transit visa.She called the customer care on 21,22 December regarding confirmation for transit visa. Customer care executive directly said ” No, you don’t require any visa.” Then she went to the airport for boarding the flight. She wasn’t allowed to board. The airport authority said you need a transit visa. Then i called their customer care at the same time around 12:11 am(my flight was at 2 am) then again their customer care said you don’t require transit visa. The airport authority and they had kind of conflict. At the end what happened is the airlines said, book a new flight yourself. and she booked one that too at higher rates then the previous one. The airport authority hasn’t initiated any refund request although at that time they said we will give you full refund. I called goibibo(through which she booked tickets), they called 7 numbers back to back regarding the issue happened to that PNR and they said they don’t have that in their history. This much careless the airlines is. whom should i approach. we have already gone through a loss of 1lakh. Who is responsible for all this?
