On 25th of April at Frankfurt airport, I was removed from flight Etihad Airways EY 008 because I didn’t have a return ticket from Muscat. It was about 21.45 at night which meant I had to spend the night in Frankfurt airport. I had to go all the way back to the departures lounge and check-ins and at that time the check-ins were closed. In the morning at about 7.00am I went to Etihad Airways check-in to see if I could exchange my ticket. The answer was no and they were most unhelpful. Which meant I had to buy another flight using Turkish Airways. My friend had to buy me a return ticket online. I find the behaviour of Etihad appalling and distressing. It was too late to do anything and I think they could have let me fly to Abu Dhabi where I could have purchased a return ticket. As I say, my friend got one for me anyway. Etihad had hours before boarding to inform me I needed a return ticket. Instead they let me board and with 10 minutes before the flight removed me in a most upsetting way. By the time I contacted my friend in the UK and he had bought me the ticket online, the flight had departed. I feel they could have let me on the flight and I could have got the return ticket in Abu Dhabi. Because of this I have lost a lot of money and I expect some reimbursement from them, not only for the loss of money but also for the distress they caused me.
